Summary:
We are seeking a Metallurgist II to provide your expertise and experience addressing metallurgical or process-related issues, providing recommendations for their resolution, and contributing to process improvement. You will be responsible for evaluating and recommending new metallurgical testing equipment and protocols.
Responsibilities:
- Provide assistance in the study, development, testing, and analysis of designs, processes, or procedures related to metallurgy
- Prepare reports on metallurgical or process-related issues and offer recommendations to the Chief Metallurgist on how to resolve or address these issues
- Evaluate and suggest improvements for metallurgical testing equipment or protocols
- Contribute to the enhancement of metallurgical processes
- Assess and manage contracts with vendors for the provision of services and equipment
- Offer guidance and advice to the site management team regarding relevant programs, practices, and existing/proposed regulations at the local, state, and federal levels
- Stay updated on current knowledge of applicable federal, state, and local regulations
Requirements:
- Bachelors degree in Metallurgy, Chemistry, or related Engineering degree AND minimum of 3 years of experience in Metallurgy or related field OR
- Masters degree in Metallurgy, Chemistry, or related Engineering degree AND minimum of 2 years of experience in Metallurgy or related field
- Knowledge of methods used in complex Metallurgical analyses
