Summary

The Sealed Air Equipment Engineering team is looking for a highly motivated, energetic, and bright Mechanical Engineer to join our Innovation & Development (I&D) organization. As a member of this team, you will work closely with fellow engineers to design and develop packaging equipment for the food industry. This role will enable you to drive equipment development projects through all stages of the process:
project conceptualization, planning, design, manufacturing, in-house testing, documentation, and support. As an engineer on this team, you will have the opportunity to expand your technical knowledge as you interface with technicians, chemical engineers, scientists, and Manufacturing, and strengthen your business acumen as you partner with our Sales and Marketing groups.

Responsibilities

Develop equipment specifications and initial solution concepts
Create engineering plans and schedules
Design and oversee equipment development from conceptualization through manufacturing
Review and generate 3D CAD designs and 2D drawings
Conduct hands-on testing of prototype equipment
Work with key suppliers in sourcing and specifying equipment elements
Oversee the manufacture of equipment
Prepare final machine documentation such as user s manuals, testing protocols, etc.
Provide technical leadership throughout development and effectively interface with internal and external customers

Qualifications

B.S. in Mechanical Engineering or related field

yeas of relevant product or equipment development experience
Broad technical knowledge and hands on experience in functional area(s)
Demonstrated ability to meet technical challenges with creative and innovative solutions
Exceptional problem solving and mechanical design abilities
Proficiency in 3D CAD Design (SolidWorks experience preferred)
Demonstrated ability to work both independently and within a team, generating results with general/minimal guidance from management
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong interpersonal skills and a work ethic that corresponds with SEE s core values
Proficient with Microsoft Office products
